Ol’ Wisco | You are 100% right. I m not gonna waist my breath trying to explain as many on here have the view crop insurance should create a revenue stream at some given time.
It’s all about risk mitigation. That’s what crop insurance does. AT AN INSANELY CHEAP LEVEL!!! When you really understandwhat the product gives you from a risk management perspective and how to utilize the product it is a steal. Anyone who is leveraging their equity instead of leveraging working capital to purchase crop insurance will pay the piper eventually. Not saying it’s gonna break them but they re leaving a lot of money on the table.
Also there are arbitrage opportunity bc of crop insurance. That creates an inefficient market for land rents.
