I couldn't disagree more. Crop insurance is the catalyst to farm consolidation. Yes equipment has gotten bigger but if no one could afford the risk there wouldn't be a need for larger equipment. Its pretty easy to rent an extra 1000 acres with crop insurance, try it without.
