You fell for the "up to" advertising. I can't read all that small print but the base truck did not have a 25K GVWR, the absolute maxed out one apparently did. Sounds like the F550/5500 of the day which is pretty much the same specs today. R. cab F550 with no bed would weigh 6500-8K depending on engine and drive train. GWR is 20K which makes about a 12K-14K payload and combined is 40K. I'm sure all of which is extremely "de-rated" to cover their butts legally. I'm sure chevy's 5500 is basically the same spec's.
