Leesburg, Ohio | I would not recommend a 2-track for a tile plow. They have zero turning ability, and less traction than about any rubber-tire tractor. We switched from a Cat 75 to an 8530 Deere mfwd, and it was a big improvement. If one could find a heavy rubber-tire 4WD with a slow first gear, or better yet, an IVT, that would work great! We have a 9330 Deere 4WD but have not tried the plow on it because the 8530 has the IVT, and the 4WD first gear is not all that slow. The Cat would only slow down to about 1.7mph at 1700 in first gear, and that was too fast, IMHO. If we idled it down any slower, it would sometime get under the power curve and stall out. | |
