Nw Iowa | We are considering that and have done a few fields that way but we do have a family member that likes to tile and could get a awful lot in between other things if tractor was ready to go. In fall not as big of problem but in the spring we are hooked up with mounted tanks and electronics for spraying fertilizer etc and it is quite a job to get everything switched over for just a couple of days. Our goal in the spring is to delay planting of a farm to get it tiled by May 20 on a normal year. ( this spring wouldn’t have made a difference) . Fall would start by around nov5th till freeze up. Last 3 falls very limited what we have got done because tractors have been tied up. We try to wait as long as possible to work hog manure ground in fall so it seems we are always fighting frost at the end. Seems to be quite beneficial to chisel hog manure if you can give it some time than chisel to incorporate and better mix. Has gotten rid of most yellow streaks. | |
