| I use to farm for an older lady, now de eased, that wouldn't let me do any field work Dec thru March because it needed to sleep. That said, we've done a lot of field work, on other ground, in December and never had an issue come spring. Years ago, '72 or 73, I did some moleboard plowing in late Jan after a Jan thaw. Though we had a normal winter we temps below 0° the rest of the winter that ground worked worse than it would have if it had been spring plowed which is a big no no on our black soils. | |
