West Chazy, New York | Sadly, that area is under intense pressure to cover the remaining arable land with row after row of identical ugly houses, and with the decline of the dairy industry it is likely to get worse. Even more destructive is when a productive farm gets broken up into ten acre plots, each with two horses and a Mahindra toy tractor with a loader on it. They tend to attract the worst neighbors a farmer could ever have. Opposed to anything that doesn't meet their standards, including fertilizer, chemicals, running at night, hunting, livestock confinement, or trying to make a living. A few cows and sheep are okay, as they give the dogs something to chase for fun, and the cows obviously seem to enjoy it as much as the dogs do. | |
