I've seen a few cases like that too, loader sold by another color dealer. Amazing how somebody can put up with something working so bad for so long...
Never saw the paint burned off, but I saw a 4430 that had the PTO clutch burned up so bad on a tub grinder that the inside of the clutch housing was smoked up almost black. The cowboy didn't get off the loader until he noticed smoke rolling out of the filler cap.
