West TN | All the grain I produce goes into grain bins. Every load is weighed so I know what each farm makes. I treat the grain as 100% mine and market accordingly. After delivering and selling all the grain, I figure the average price per bushel I got paid. For example, I sold a total of 100,000 bushels for a total of $400,000 giving me an average price of $4/bushel. I subtract my electricity costs (typically around $0.05/bushel) for running the fans, elevator, etc. all landlords get paid $3.95/bushel for their share of the yield on their farm.
This has been the fairest way I have found to do it. | |
