Near-north Ontario, French River | Did you give it a fair test on E85, or just a single tank? I talked to a mechanic once and he said that it could take a couple of fills for the vehicles fuel system algorithms to adjust to a large change in E or octane levels. I have no idea if that's true but it does sound reasonable. I have a buddy that swears his econoline van only runs properly on high test gas, if he runs regular unleaded it knocks and starts hard etc. If what the deal says is true maybe a guy has to switch to E85 slowly.. as in blend a tank or two of fuel to get up to e85, vs running a tank of regular unleaded down to empty and filling with straight e85. |
