I agree. The problem is we already have close to 29 cents per gallon gas tax which generates roughly $1.5 billion in revenue. That doesn't include registration or any other vehicle type taxes. Yet the state spent $1.1 billion on roads last year and the incoming governor wants to raise gas tax more yet.

I would far favor usage taxes/sales taxes over income and property taxes. People shouldn't be punished for saving or forced to pay government rent on their property for a lifetime.
