Subject: Gleaner N5 discharge plugging in corn

SC WI
Not sure what's going on everything turns freely and after unplugging it the first time and putting on a new belt I was able to get back to it but 3 acres later it was plugged right tight again. Short poor corn, are the soft spongy cob tips getting stuck up against the impeller wheel and the discharge shoot? How do I remedy this problem? It's never been an issue before, in any other crops even in other bad corn crops, I am running in the teens for temperature & running in snow not sure if that matters or not.
