We had the PP clean grain elevator chain crud paddle break off on our 8240 last year. It got caught and bent the bubble up auger and broke a shaft in that same gearbox as yours. Put both in new and put a complete new PP clean grain elevator chain it. This year the crud bucket broke off the new chain and wrecked the bubble up auger when it got caught again, it actually broke off part of the bubble up auger when it got caught. There is one crud paddle on each chain, they are made out of some tough stuff. I don't know why it broke off, we will not run a PP chain with that paddle again.
