It means they want ownership of as much grain as possible right now so they can steadily drop the basis for the next 4 months.
Sorry to be a negative Nancy but that’s just my experience. I’ve done DP contracts in the past and afterwards I ask myself why. Would you sign over the title for a vehicle and tell the buyer you will figure out the price sometime in the next four months?
