will like to hear others thoughts but the biggest difference I found was grinding the edge square on the auger. I went from a 220 head to a 925 full fingered this year. I had the same thoughts as you, it feeds better than the old one but still bunches some like you described. I hit the auger with a flapper wheel and was a huge difference. Doesn't take that long.
