Aberdeen MS | Get a NuWave "hot plate". I've had one for over 7 yrs. Only time I use the stove top now is when I need to boil water for pasta.
I haven't found a pot as a single item as of yet. (Haven't looked that hard either). The NuWave will detect an inductive friendly utensil, if it isn't, the plate will beep and flash an E on the read out.
I proved the "safety" of it to a friend once. Put a skillet on the hotplate with water in it and got it to boiling and placed my finger tips an inch away from the skillet on the hot plate. Took the skillet off and 15 secs later placed my entire hand on the hot plate and held it there.
The NuWave uses actual temp numbers for the heat setting in a 10 degree split. Want to simmer a skillet meal, set it at 200. No "hunting" of the L, M, H setting on the stove waiting for the heating element to cool off mean while the skillet is still boiling. The change of temp is really that quick. | |
