Near-north Ontario, French River
Define a good cutting day? BlowhardJoe claimed 25 days was more than enough.... but what if those 25 days only along 100hrs or running?? I hear rumours ( never been there so cant confirm or deny)_ that on the prairies guys can run 16hrs or more cutting wheat, the air is dry and temps warm. In my little part of Ontario 6hr days are common, 10 is rare and 12 hr days are all but unheard of. Being so close to Lake Erie we rarely get running before 1pm and as soon as the sun sets the air gets thick and things get shut down. Got 25miles to the north, away from Lake Erie and guys ar running mid morning at quitting at 1am or later. I guess my point is when it comes to harvest delays, or what ever its all about location location location... unless you are THERE, its just silly to point a finger and claim incompetence.
