S IA | Thanks for all the good advice. One variable forgot to mention and is somewhat of the driver for the inclination for a larger tractor is that I have a low use 568 baler I picked up cheap since it was needing work and I know how to fix them. The plan was to have one that could not only handle the baler for 80 acres (could do that with a utility tractor), but also handle custom jobs for extra income. A tractor with higher horsepower would make that venture more feasible for baling in hills, transport speed, and in general to better utilize baler capacity. This also better justifies a dependable tractor since hay needs baled when it is dry. Any thoughts on smallest tractor that people use to run a 5x6 round baler in hills without running out of power? | |
