| I've used airpurifiers for years..Kenmore progressive 335..bought it probably 10 years ago...
The hepa filter, which is supposed to catch the small particles..cost over 100 bucks..I replaced
it once..I now cut a furnace air filter down to fit and put a prefilter (10$ for a bulk 3 x 5 foot piece)
in front. Don't buy the ones that have the cleanable filters..they suck. The dylis has a hepa that is
good for a year..or so they say. Here is the deal..hepa filters are going to plug up quicker than your
regular filter will...Thats why you need a prefilter in front...I know when the air is getting cleaned
by the amount of dust that collects over time on flat surfaces...Another thing you can do..have the
ducts cleaned..but remember duct cleaning will only get about 80% of the crud out. I also have a tower,
thera pure...it sucks..Has a cartridge type filter that is supposed to be cleanable...it isn't..I tossed it
and stuffed a bunch of prefiters in where it used to sit...Works great.. | |
