There’s wasn’t an outside independent audit done for several years, even at the annual meetings it was just a computer printout of a financial statement with nothing ever demanded to back it up!!
The board has its hands full for not being more demanding
Sounds kind of like Township where I live. Previous Township trustees and Supervisor where inept @ best. Didn't pay IRS and ILL withholding taxes for 13 years. Didn't have a required audit in the time period that is required by law to be on file @ County Clerks office.
Ended up costing $150,000 pus to get tax problem resolved. Supervisor and her husband paid township $120,000 plus. It is unclear why they felt the need to pay the township those kind of $. County States Attorney was contacted about the situation, but she refused to get involved. |
