Middle Tennessee | So, I guess Xi returns to Beijing this morn, and he will begin dispatching instructions on negotiations and concessions. 85% chance they are not returning to the bean market, until the president gets his Real Deal, which is probably months down the line. scmp says Xi will begin movement on "concrete" agreements, which, re soy, is no new tariffs after Jan. 1. All the signs are there, they said they would buy "marketable" products, and I believe that predicate subtly is designed to exclude soy, based on statements made by the Chinese before the meeting (ie that trade was multilateral, and that China could not buy more from the US and less from Brazil). So that's probably it. The Chinese market will not be open to US beans until a window when Brazilian new crop will be available. | |
