Acres x Expected Yield = Bushels at risk

You can manage the risk on those bushels quite a ways out. There is a point that hedging to far in advance is not economical. 1 year and keep hedging cost in-line is very, very achievable. It’s a matter of knowing what instruments are available to you and how they work.
