So you are saying it is ok for other US businesses/industries to get screwed by China as long as ag gets free trade? The ag industry could choose not to do business with China too. Develop more domestic demand and quit relying on politically unstable countries that would just as soon see the US destroyed.

ETA to answer your question of long run implications, I don't think anyone can provide more than a guess. Doubt it will be wildly positive but who knows.

US ag should no more fight the fight to protect Google, Facebook, Apple, et als margins than they should have to fight for ours.
