A paid board member? I don’t think any board needs a professional meeting goer who’s connection to the farm is his/her cell phone calling home to find out the details of the day. I can think of one farm organization here in Illinois that pays its board members close to $60k a year from the insurance side, they surely are not anymore affective than volunteers how take time off from their operation to participate.
