a bigger complaint for me is reduction in quality: products that are marketed according to a historical quality, but are not even close anymore. Now I must think of some examples:
COFFEE!! Back in the 50's, coffee companies began adding a bit of non-arabica(Robusta)- coffee to blend & could get away with it. By the 70's, it was so bad it kick-started all of the boutique coffee companies. Then major companies backed off on the robusta to get customers back.
For me, NO coffee was as good as TIM HORTON'S-when I found it on a trip to Canada, but three (?)-years ago, Tim Horton's was combined with the Burger King Company, & I am absolutely positive that the quality has gone down. EVERY single time venture capitalists get ahold of a product or company, they ruin it. Might make fabulous profit in the short term, but ALWAYS ruin everything in the long term. Girardelhi Chocolate is another ruined by venture capital. Hoffman Cheese is another: Once they were bought out, I noticed an observable change in the cheese: Hoffman Hot Pepper cheese was my favorite of all cheese products, but they ruined it. Fortunately, I found a substitute in Amish Classic..
Put KFC in there for a reduction of quality as well. I don’t believe at all that the only difference from the original vs now is the cooking oil. The Crispy is just plain pathetic. As a kid and even later I enjoyed it. Not the same at all. They monkey with everything. I quit buying anything KFC. And Taco Bell became Taco Crap. |
