Subject: RE: Politics Trigger Warning

Northeast Iowa
Old Hamilton helped create the bank of New York to lend money to political allies ONLY. Total cronyism.

Federalists would be the only people to get loans, Jefferson Republicans would be denied. Denied loans for political party identification!!! We aren't that decisive these days.

Aaron Burr steps in a hero - gets big public support for a water project to have clean water. Federalists see that the Republicans have major support on this, and they want their cake too. So New York Legislature gets on board with the project and creates the The Manhattan Water Company. Last minute change to the legislation - the water company could borrow money.

Manhattan Water Company was essentially a bank for Republicans then. Public Borrowing would now be widespread across most people regardless of political identity.

Now that there was more equal access to money, Hamilton was peeved. Political enemies could be well-funded! His anger builds up as his father-in-law and party loses majority rule in New York elections due to Aaron Burr and his efforts. Hamilton gets revenge in the presidential tie in 1800, and gets Jefferson elected Prez while Burr has to be VP. In the heated election, Jefferson and Burr do not trust each other, and Burr become a seat-filler VP: and he becomes angry at Hamilton.

You all know the rest of the story. Or do you?

The duel story is completely unfounded with Hamilton shooting into the tree or purposefully high and away. Hamilton possibly cheated in the duel. We don't know, but he was brilliant and framed Burr to be a very bad guy and ruined his life after the duel.

And The Manhattan Bank later merges with Chase Bank, and today is JPMorgan.
