I consumed books like candy at that age; I understand that an excellent reader can blow through the small school library, elementary and HS, very quickly.



I read nearly every non fiction book in our school library's, I did read some fiction - geared towards males. LOL in 3rd grade I made over 300 book reports. Won the "Most book reports award".
I actually got in trouble for reading in high school, (read at least 3-4 books a week) until the teachers realized I still got all my work done.

My grand daughter makes my reading pale in comparison to her's she's in 5th grade reading at 12th grade level. She reads 4-5 books at the same time.
I remember when she was 6, there wasn't a word in the newspaper she couldn't read.
