I might be the most bearish of corn. don't see a spring rally and I believe we will be at 97 million acres of corn for next year with a 9-10 million acre drop in beans that if SA raises 120+ mmt crop that the 10 million acre drop don't matter. I am hedged on 19 crop at 75% for corn and 90% on what beans I plan to plant. I will still make a few dollars and survive what I see as a disaster looming. Put $8 beans or lower and see what rent you can actually afford. Put in $3.30 corn and do the same. If you were all share crop then the price decline in beans and corn would have minimal effect.

I beg to differ, Price declines have great effects on profit/loss on share crop rentals as well. We do some share crop and some cash rents. Perhaps you’re trying to say that a share crop rental can sustain profit longer into declining markets because the landlord shares in the decline. That’s absolutely true, but lower prices still drastically affect the bottom line.
