Subject: RE: Prevented plantings.

So even lower acreage than the past few years is likely? I'm a South Dakota winter wheat farmer by tradition...but have not planted fir two years after bumper crop of 2016 left me wondering why I raise wheat. It seems if you have any alternative crops that you can substitute it's tempting to not plant winter wheat. But it's the rotation King for row crops...but unless you have fallow it's a hard sell up here as it does best following spring wheat which saddles you with two years of wheat. I sense that 19 production will be low due to low acres ..but I don't know if market will notice till Russia runs out of wheat...which is unlikely.
