Subject: RE: Hedging mandated health care (Obamacare) cost

Complicated problems have complicated solutions. Throwing everything on government's plate sounds nice and easy but they still have to deal with the issues, and generally do it expensively (remember the portal that cost millions and wasn't workable?).

There are a lot of steps and pain associated with fixing healthcare.....
-no more employer system
-new division of Glass-Stegall or Sherman Antitrust allowing healthcare cooperatives
-tax profits of healthcare insurers at 200%. Seriously.
-Everyone under 30 moves into an HSA plan with double the tax deduction, save for medical and carry HDHPs that a lot of people will never utilize and get to save their premiums.

This is just a start, and hasn't dealt with the two biggest problems we have
1. The US is generally unhealthy and has no incentive to get healthier
2. Healthcare advancements (and costs associated with the ability to give people more quantity and quality of life) have quickly outpaced economic growth. We no longer have the ability to pay for services, but also how do you put a dollar value on people's lives? I'm not touching that one....

Again, complicated problems. Complicated solutions.
