Question is, are you going all in for 5 and 12 or will you hedge your bets?
I am not growing beans next year. 6 weeks or so ago I sat down and ran COP projections with best and worst case price/yield scenarios for both corn and beans. Corn won for me regardless so its all corn. Last year I finalized my plan on January 23. I suspect it will be a little later this year. I have a pretty good idea though. That said I always want to remain vigilant for the information price supplies that would clue me into a different outcome. If it's not going where I think it will, it will tell me months before - just gotta be willing to listen and keep yourself out of your way.
