The way I read it is $319 meal and $85 hogs (futures) nest June/July works for a lot of hog producers. Don't miss it.
Still doesn’t address the other 10 months for profitability. Are June/ July profits enough to offset the rest of the year?
So many “experts” focus solely on the summer months. And yet last year was the first in many where we didn’t, at some point, crack the $90 mark.....and now we’re giddy about $85.
I’m not critical of you, cynic, I agree fully if there looks like a profit in hogs....better grab it. Just merely point out how things have changed....we’ve really lowered our expectations. |
