I didn't know any of that, but didn't want to be the guy asking the question in case it was obvious and I already have self esteem issues. I now understand the math somewhat--- but I am still struggling with the fairness of it. Self employment tax when combined with health insurance is a "huge" disadvantage to us. If you get a w-2 your employer pays a little of both of those. This is one of those things, I suppose, you understand better after writing a few checks for it---lol Thanks again
