| If farming is continually portrayed as a life sentence of grueling labor and poverty it’s not going to sound attractive to most people even if they enjoy other aspects of it. Money does matter, at least to some extent. It doesn’t really matter how bad you want to farm if there is not a realistic expectation that you can at least live above the poverty line. Add to that the fact that in the given example it’s someone who would be among the most successful farmers I know portraying themselves this way, then why would you want to beat your head against the wall if it’s really that bad. | |
