I would think if someone has no debt and owns land, then they are doing better than just getting by. On the other hand, on paper, he might not be making a lot of money. If you factor in taxes, health insurance, vehicle/ farm insurance, utilities, and depreciation, that could easily be $100,000 for a small/ medium sized farm.
