Cedar Rapids, Iowa | I didn't have any issues with the SD100 at ~14 volts when I ran it, but if the alternator had a problem, it would probably have smoked that device.
Likely the firmware on it will work fine. Running above the recommended voltage is probably the bigger red flag.
Since there's a current day solution for $40 with a much wider input voltage range, I'd go with that option now. If your SD100 went up in smoke mid season, it would cost you more than $40 in time to get it fixed. | |
