I nearly wept when I heard he had passed. My maternal grandparents had huge influences on my life and they were devoted Hee-Haw watchers. Like Roy, Grandpa could play guitar and banjo. He owned a beautiful Gibson L-4 guitar, now in the hands of one of my second cousin's who plays. Grandpa used to play me whatever I wanted to hear, either hymns or country tunes. Hard to believe those thick, cow milking hands of my Gramps could pick so well.
Just a warm memory associated with Roy Clark. I hope he rests in peace. | |

Roy Clark passed away today at 85.
