Subject: High HDOP with Omni* HP on Raven 410

West Central Indiana
We are running a SmarTrax with a Raven 410 on OmniStar HP on a JD combine. We have been getting sporadic, unpredictable High HDOP warnings the last few days, which disables the autosteer from engaging. The receiver display say that it is completely converged at the time, and has 7 satellites in view. There is no real rhyme or reason as to when it gets these warnings. Today, we harvested all day and never had a problem until about 6pm. Yesterday we had trouble for a couple of hours in the middle of day, then it went away. Before that, we hadn't seen any problems for a week or so.

Is anyone else seeing these sort of issues? Is it an HP problem - I've been very impressed with HP so far, and was under the impression that it was not as susceptible to performance issues like we are currently seeing with WAAS.

Any help would be appreciated. The one thing that we haven't gotten around to yet, is to move our antenna from on top of the cab to the top of the grain tank extensions tomorrow - maybe that will give us a clearer view of the sky and solve the problem.

AAAAhhh, technology - ain't it grand?!

Happy harvesting!
