Subject: Tail bitting in pigs

EC Nebraska
What are some remedies to slow or stop tail bitting? Pigs seem to be fine until they reach about 180lbs then it starts with one here or there and gradually gets worse. We try to single out the pig or pigs causing the problem but now have a pen that just seems to be attacking each other. Can it be just a genetic thing because we had a group a few years back that no matter what we did they just went after each other. This is in full slat barns. We have adjusted the temps in the rooms lower added chains for them to chew on and tried different additives in the feed. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.
