NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | I had a BIL that had them for 3-4 years can’t remember for sure how long he had them but was a long time. It even got into one of his eyes. He just died last week from an unrelated cause but do know he still he’d them yet when he died.
My wife and I both got the single shingles shot a couple of years ago before this new vaccine was available. She got the first of the new 2 shot a couple of weeks ago. I’m signed up at two Walmart’s and my local pharmacy to get one, whoever gets the vaccine in first I’ll go to. They say there is a long back order on it, I’ll find out. You need to wait for two to 4 months to get the second shot. Our insurance is going to pickup 100% of the bill.
Good luck with yours, doesn’t sound like a fun thing to get.
