Subject: Ag Leader steering rant

We were finally able to do some ripping Thursday but where short on help. No problem, my 13 year old ( who’s just learning to run articulated tractor) can do fine with auto steer. As I’m giving him a test round, auto steer quits. Dealer doesn’t know why, as reception is good. It rains and snows all day Friday so I take it to a sod field and test it. No problems for 45 minutes of trial. This morning I start ripping on frost, a while later my son comes to run it again. It quits as his moms dropping him off. Dealer can’t come, he’s busy at home, but says change receivers. No different. Changed consoles, same result. Was told it’s probably the SAM module, which of course is now obsolete. Had similar issues when planting wheat on a different tractor. I started using Ag Leader do to poor support from my Deere dealer, but I’m wondering if it was the right move.
