A Nav 2 and Nav 3 are the same except for the base software. Meaning you can buy a Nav 2 and put the newest version of software on it.
Reason I know is I bought 1 Nav 2 as a spare real cheap a couple years ago and when we bought 3 auto steer ready 7240s last year I put it on and bought 2 new Nav 3s. All have the same software.
