SE South Dakota | If I build something I want it to be there for a long time so a hoop barn doesn't interest me much. My biggest hurdle this year has been the mud and flooded pasture. Cows were pulled out of the pasture in August and we have been feeding them since. I had plans of cover crop planting but the weather has not allowed planting. We are struggling with harvest so no stalks to graze yet. I also work off the farm full time so ease of taking care of them is worth a lot to me. I agree that cows should be out grazing and getting exercise but not sure I can rely on the pasture I have. | |
