I think it has more to do with the breed of broiler, or more to the point the way they are raised. My folks raised broilers for years, and in the last few years to be quite honest it was pretty hard to get real excited about eating their chickens, it got to the point where just about all we could do with them is make stew.
So we have some neighbors that raise broilers for sale, get the chicks from the same place my folks did, same breed. Their broilers are the most tender, tastiest chicken we've had in a long time. Everytime they deliver, I ask them how and what they feed them, and all I get is a little smile, and this response “all the good stuff”.
They also process the chickens themselves, so maybe that’s the trick, I don’t know. | |
