It sounds like a great program your church has going.

You might consider adding some fresh veggies like carrots, celery, broccoli, etc., fresh fruit like grapes, sliced apples, pineapple, etc. and some sliced cheese. It might help those who are trying to watch calories, sodium, or carbohydrates to have some healthier choices for side dishes and also some reasonable substitutes for more sugary desserts.

For other side dishes (maybe not the best if watching calories, sodium, carbs), you might consider scalloped potatoes, cheesy potatoes, corn casserole, or green bean casserole. Including some homemade chocolate chip cookies might satisfy some folks better instead of only having a bigger/heavier dessert choice like pie, cobbler or cake. (but I'd probably take a cookie or 2 along with the pie, cake, etc)

For main dish ideas, some sloppy joes would work good, or a breakfast type meal with breakfast casserole, or pancakes and waffles with sausage and eggs.
