SW Wisconsin | I gotten $0.29 and $0.355/lb for the cows I’ve sent to the slaughter sale this year, trying to figure out how to beat that. I’ve advertised a range of $0.50-1.00/lb live weight, can board until a locker date or you can slaughter on the farm. Absolutely no bites. $0.50 is gonna be the scrawnier young cows, $1 would just be the 18-month old freemartin heifer. Am I asking too much? Not enough? I’ve got about a dozen to sell, some would make indifferent beef, some would be melt in your mouth delicious. | |
