Don't use the 30 amp fuse it will ruin the motor. Inspect the auger closely, is there anything protruding from the edge of the flight. This will stop the motor and blow the fuse. Had one that worked fine in wheat and soybeans but when running corn it would blow fuses. Also check the tube for anything protruding. 5 amp fuse is plenty. Motor mostly only pulls 2 amp.


^This^ is the way to do it. Oversize fusing is only rarely ever a good solution. Generally speaking, it's typically more of a crutch for a faulty diagnostic methodology than an actual solution. It's no different than oversizing a shear bolt. It's less likely to solve the problem, and more likely to cause a breakage at the next weakest link in the chain, which will probably not be as cheap as a fuse or a bolt.
