Northwest IL | Guessing some are finishing up harvest, while others have just got a good start. Yields holding up, got worse, better? We are about half done with corn and beans both. Beans around here are 5-10 better than last year, but 5-10 off record of 2016. Corn is a big disappointment here as most is off 25-50 bushels from last year, not standing well either. Record here for corn was last year or 2016. Worse than expected crowd here as most were thinking within 10 bushel or even with last year. In my 20+ years of farming this maybe the first year where state average is going to be higher than our farm average. | |
