I would say S is important to apply as we are not getting as much free S. You also need to consider the yield environment and current economics. In our case we were too wet early in may/june as soil warmed up we mineralized quite a bit, we were not overly wet in aug so we didnt lose much other than 1 big rain end of july that hurt us.

All in all in a 50-60bu yield environment and current markets it would have been highly unlikely to have gotten an roi on extra nutrients especially micros. In 80-100 bu or $20beans it would be different
