Same here, demand charge is usually within a few % of the $$ of power, funny thing when I put in 3-phase only mention from the power company was how much cheaper the power was than single phase, never bothered to mention the demand charge, but got 1/2 mile of line buried up to the farm with no out of pocket cash outlay and now options for expanding a grain handling setup are virtually unlimited so I guess that is worth something also not being restricted on motor sizes or have to buy phase convertors/VFD
